Widi
Ben met Widi when he stopped in front of the hotel
early 2009. Widi opened the cab door and received him
with a spontaneous, hospitable smile.
The days after it was Widi again who received him at
the hotel and they started chatting regularly.
After two days Widi said that he wanted to make a mirrorframe for Ben as a reminder.
For Widi was also a scuptor and wanted to make a keepsake for Ben as a token
of their friendship.
Ben heard that Widi had attended the Hotel Management School and was doing an
internship at the hotel. He didn't earn much and he was mostly dependent on tips. Widi
didn't want a tip from Ben because he had told him about the tips.
No, he would rather introduce him to a colleague and friend, who was looking for
someone to correspond in Indonesian.
This selflessness in Widi appaeled to Ben. Reason to support him throught the
